Why practices choose Veterian over Instinct
Two products, two different rooms
Instinct's own pages name emergency and specialty hospitals, urgent care, corporate groups and teaching hospitals as who it is for. The product follows: digital treatment and anaesthesia sheets, a real-time status board, dosing calculators and a drug reference built for a shift handover on a hospital floor.
Veterian is general practice software — appointments, records, the vaccination calendar, stock, invoicing and reporting, built to be fast on the day a clinic actually has. If you run a general practice, that is the product you are buying, and the rows below compare the two on that ground.
Where the comparison is actually live
Instinct now publishes a primary-care version, so a general practice may well see both products. On that ground the questions are ordinary ones: what does it cost, how long until the team is competent, and what happens to your history when you move.
Veterian answers all three publicly — €29, €59 and €89 a month, a 14-day free trial, and migration free on every plan. Instinct publishes no price and no trial that we could find.
Built for a practice without an IT department
Client details, the patient profile, past visits and notes sit on one screen. A medical record is created in the SOAP format your team already thinks in. A payment is recorded in a single step. AI dictation drafts the note so the writing-up does not follow the vet home.
We would rather be the software a new nurse can use properly in a week than the one with the longer feature list.
