Veterian and Provet side by side

Every Provet entry below is taken from Provet’s own published pages and linked underneath, with the date we read it. Where a capability is not documented publicly, the table says so rather than assuming it is missing. A cross in the Provet column appears only where Provet states the answer on the page the footnote links to.

Why practices choose Veterian over Provet

Both of us publish a price, so do the arithmetic yourself

Provet is one of two vendors on these pages that publishes what it costs without a sales call, so this comparison can be made on figures rather than on impressions. They price by region: in US dollars, Core is $99 per veterinarian per month plus a $249 monthly platform fee and Pro is $129 plus $299; in sterling, Core is £99 per veterinarian and Pro £119, with their own platform fees. Non-vet staff are included at no charge, and their AI scribe is a $40 per-user add-on. All of that is on their pricing page, linked in the table.

Veterian is €29, €59 and €89 a month, two months free on annual billing, taxes shown separately. We are not going to tell you which is better value for your practice, because it depends entirely on how many vets you have and how many of them want the scribe. Both sets of numbers are published; work it out for your own clinic.

AI dictation is in the plan, not a per-seat line

Provet charges $40 per user per month for its AI scribe on top of the plan. In Veterian, AI-assisted dictation and SOAP note drafting are part of what you already pay for.

The distinction matters most in a practice where several vets would use it. A scribe billed per seat is a decision you have to make about each vet individually; one included in the plan is a tool the whole team either uses or does not.

Migration costs you nothing, and we say what it involves

Moving to Veterian is free on every plan, from any system. We review your export, plan the field mapping, transfer patient records, client balances, vaccination history and stock, and verify the result with you before handover.

Provet runs migration in-house too and describes practices being live in eight to twelve weeks. Their page does not say what it costs, which is the one thing about their pricing that is not published.

Frequently asked questions

On features, less than you might expect — the table above shows a lot of overlap, and it links every Provet entry to the page it came from. The differences that actually decide it are commercial.

Provet prices per veterinarian with a monthly platform fee on top, and sells its AI scribe per seat. Veterian charges a flat plan price with dictation included. Whether that favours you depends on the shape of your team, which is why both sets of figures are on the page rather than a claim about who is cheaper.

Trademarks and methodology

Provet and all associated names, marks and logos are the property of their respective owners. Veterian is not affiliated with, authorised by, sponsored by or endorsed by them, and their marks are used here only to identify the products being compared.

These pages are published for veterinary practices in English-speaking markets.

This comparison reflects information published by each vendor on its own website, read on the dates given beside each source and reviewed on 9 September 2026. Vendors change their products and their documentation without notice, so entries may be out of date. Where a vendor does not publish information about a capability we record it as “Not published”; we do not treat silence as evidence that a capability is absent.

If you believe an entry misrepresents your product, write to support@veterian.com and we will correct it.
